Opuoru, Oyibode Inspect Pakah Road Featured

The Member representing Warri South Constituency 2 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, accompanied by Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP, Member representing Udu,

Ughelli South, Uvwie, and Urhobos of Warri South Local Government Areas on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, had on the 5th of October, 2020 inspected the construction of Pakah road in Warri South Local Government area, as his constituency project.

 

Hon. Opuoru, while inspecting the 293 meters long road, gave God glory because according to him, "the road project which was abandoned in 2014, has eventually seen the light of day." The obviously elated lawmaker, seeing the manifestation said he was full of joy at the sight of the ongoing road project.

 

He also thanked His Excellency, Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and DESOPADEC, especially Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, firstly, for his effective representation of Warri South people on the board of DESOPADEC and secondly, for being the first in their history to pull DESOPADEC projects to Warri South.

 

Commenting on the level of work done so far, Olorogun Oyibode gave kudos to Governor Okowa, the Honorable Member, and community leaders for their various roles.

 

"When we were inaugurated, the first thing the Governor mandated us to do was to call a town hall meeting, so that the desires of the people could be captured. I am happy to inform you that this road project was one of the major demands of the people.


Whatever we do must have the people’s reflection and you have heard from the people," he said.

"DESOPADEC, through its management led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, is working in tandem to ensure that the desire of the people is met. Governor OKOWA is a man who believes in giving hope and joy to the people. He has promised the people that the drainage will be fully captured in the next budget," Oyibode added.

 

Earlier, a community leader in the area, Chief Bright Okumagba had expressed delight at DESOPADEC’s quick response to their plight and commended the speed and quality of work done. He then prayed for the Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Honorable Member, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru and DESOPADEC for coming to their aid.

Mrs. Joy Idoghor, a resident of the area also expressed her happiness at the ongoing project, stating that the project would alleviate their pains.

 

Another resident, Mr. Josiah Ogbaorakpo said before now, the road was so bad that residents were always scared of being displaced by flooding, during the rains. But now, the story has changed. The road is now accessible, all thanks go to Hon Opuoru and DESOPADEC.
