“The death of Joseph is very painful and irreparable, not only to your family but to the Itsekiri nation, as he was killed at his prime. But be encouraged and take solace in God; the one who knows everything. My office will do everything within its reach to assist the children late Joseph Pessu left behind. However, be assured that His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta state is doing everything possible, so that our late son will receive justice” Mayuku said.
Speaking earlier, father of the late Joseph, Mr. Monday Pessu while thanking the delegation for their visit, said he believed that the soldier that killed his son was commissioned to do so. He pleaded with the delegation to use their good offices to assist him in getting justice for his late son. He further told the delegation that Joseph was a lovely boy, easy going and cool headed.
