COVID-19: DESOPADEC Subjects Staff, Visitors To Health Check Featured

Staff of DESOPADEC and visitors alike, have continued to take advantage of the installed infra-red thermometers, automated soap sanitizing machines as well as hygiene enabling accessories put in place at the commission's headquarters to checkmate the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

They were asked to observe all the safety procedures involved in the installations of the items before entry into the premises of the commission.

Staff and visitors were seen, Wednesday, submitting

themselves to check for their temperatures at the entrance of the Commission while also washing and sanitizing their hands as directed.

In what was described as leading by example, the MD/CEO of the commission, Bashorun Askia Ogieh and the various Executive Directors also subjected themselves for temperature check before gaining entrance into their respective offices.

The management of the commission in being proactive curbing the spread of the diseases in the state, had directed the Medical Health and Safety Services Unit to install the equipments for use by visitors and staff of the commission.

Also, in compliance with the directives of the Delta State Government on measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus, all Staff on Grade Level 01 - 12 (except those on essential duties; Health, Security, Maintenance etc) in the Commission have been asked to stay at home with effect from Thursday, 26th March 2020; just as all biometric operations have been suspended till further notice.

The Commission also encourageds every Nigerian to continue to practise regular hand washing with soap and running water, social distancing; and if they feel unwell with symptoms like dry cough, fever and difficulty in breathing, they should report at the nearest public health facility or designated centres. Do not panic and do not engage in self medication.

The MD/CEO has also sent a message in Pidgin English through a video to the people of the DESOPADEC mandate areas.
