Speaking to DESOPADEC Today in Warri, Hon Ebosa said his mission is to develop the oil producing areas, noting that he is not new to the terrain and knows the formula to deploy to see that communities benefit from the Commission. According to the Chairman, “ We will send the message to our stakeholders through our various representatives to see how they will welcome whatever projects we are bringing to them instead of creating more problems for contractors”. On the hostility of communities to projects execution, Hon Ebosa said they should be more friendly so that contractors can complete projects on time.
Also speaking on complaints by contractors on delayed payment of completed jobs, Hon Ebosa said “we will solve that problem through proper planning”, noting that “we will not award contracts when the funds are not available and once jobs are certified for payment, we
need to pay Immediately”. On his vision and advice to stakeholders, Hon Ebosa said going
by global economic downturn occasioned by falling oil price, DESOPADEC derivation will also be affected, thus whatever that is available should be used judiciously.
He advised stakeholders to be calm and not be in a hurry and have confidence in this set of people appointed to pilot the affairs of the Commission.
