...dedicates life to more service to humanity.

The much talked about Special Thanksgiving by the Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun Hon. Askia Ogieh, has finally held, with great fanfare and

The bold character Thanksgiving had in attendance the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and wife, Dame Edith Okowa; the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Dcn. Kingsley Otuaro, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and very many notable political titans in the state, who all showed up physically at the country home of the Commission's Chief Executive Officer to celebrate with him.
The event took place at the St. Matthias Catholic Church, Uzere, Isoko South LGA.

In his homily, at the Thanksgiving service, the Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, His Lordship, Bishop John Okeoghene Afaregha took his reference from the book of Prophet Isaiah 9:2, which reads thus: "The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."

He drew copious scriptural allusions to justify the proactive and people-based disposition of this quintessential son of Uzere kingdom.
Later, a top grade reception was held to treat guests, dignitaries, associates and well wishers at the ultra modern Uzere Civic Centre that was commissioned a day earlier, by His Excellency, Gov. Okowa.

The reception which turned out to be a Mecca of some sort, witnessed an unusual influx of various political pressure and community groups, including as far away as Aaye Ekiti in Ekiti State where the MD/CEO was invested with his legendary Bashorun traditional title decades ago.

Like an intimidating roll call of who-is-who and creme-de- la-creme in the political circle of the State, key personalities who graced the occasion included the Chairman of the PDP in Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Esiso; the SSG, Delta State, Barr. Chiedu Ebie; the Chairman of DESOPADEC, Evang. Prince Michael Diden, Members of the Delta State Executive Council, Members of the State House of Assembly, Chairmen of Isoko council areas, President General of Isoko Development Union; Executive Directors and Board Members of DESOPADEC, royal fathers from far and near, staff of DESOPADEC; women, youths, and many others.
