In keeping faith with the commitment of the present DESOPADEC Board been that of "completing and commissioning"; the Executive Director of the Directorate of Social Services in the Commission - Hon. Ochor Ochor, in company of one of the Ndokwa Ethnic Representatives on the Board of the Commission - Hon. Fidelis Oputa, and other Staff of the Commission went on a three-day project inspection visit to DESOPADEC projects in Communities spread all over the Ukwuani Local Government Area of

Delta State.


The inspection visit to the Communities in Ukwuani LGA began on the 5th of September, 2016 and it was concluded on the 7th of September, 2016. It was also used as need assessment visit to the Communities, interacting with the heads, chiefs, elders, women and the youths of the visited Communities.


Such inspection visits have been on by other members of the Board, and this has put contractors on their toes to deliver as at when due; to speed up work and to deliver based on specifications.


This visit by the Executive Director, Directorate of Social Services - Hon. Ochor Ochor, was greatly appreciated by the Communities visited, and they expressed their gratitude. They also used the opportunity to make known their needs, which the Executive Director said will help in the formulation of the budget for next year for the Commission, which is in line with the proposed bottom-top approach to development of the Commission.


The visit availed the Director, Directorate of Social Services - Hon. Ochor Ochor  of getting first hand information of the state and quality of jobs been done in his area, not depending on reports from subordinates. And it also gave him the opportunity to relate with some contractors and their representatives available at the time of the inspection visit.
